What blew it open for the jury was the revelation that the cop investigating the case started seeing the wife in a relationship as the investigation went on. He told the truth on the stand; maybe he knew I had documentary evidence that would have skewered him if he had tried to tell a lie. The wife’s story wasn’t holding up and the cops testimony tipped the apple cart.
